Forties Quilt Finished!

Kirsten started this quilt in September 2013.  She had some stippling problems, so she finally ripped that out and did the entire thing stitch-in-the-ditch, which is really more appropriate for a Forties quilt.  She is liking it! She use the high-loft batting, so it is soft and puffy.

Just Finished One, Now Starting Modified Sunset Sail Quilt

Kirsten is finally doing an all blue and white quilt.  Not as many pieces as the Liberated Stars Quilt she just completed.  It is sure to be just as wonderful, however.  She has parts of it together, but ran out of blue thread, so will have to make more progress after she goes shopping.  Shopping is always dangerous; could cause additional fabric purchasing!  Here is how it looks so far . . .

Ooops! The housekeeper knocked all the blocks off the design wall! Good thing Kristen took a photo!  :)

Liberated Star Quilt is Complete!

Kirsten finally finished her Liberated Stars Quilt. It has 24 Liberated Star blocks, in bright and bold color combinations.  For the backing she used
some hop-scotch fabric that she had in her stash.  This quilt looks great on her bed! Love that red with irregular dots binding!

Got 24 Liberated Stars Pieced

Kristen is happy she got 24 Liberated Stars completed for her latest quilt. She is adding vertical black and white sashing for added interest and to break up all the colors a bit.  It is still on the design wall, but she will soon be squaring up those star blocks and sewing them to each other!

Anniversary Party!

Kirsten plays hostess at an anniversary party.  She is wearing her favorite Hello Kitty dress and fancy necklace.  She spent the day decorating by hanging up some of her favorite quilts to add color to the atmosphere.
A good friend baked this huge cake with lots of sprinkles!
The photographer took some great shots, but the blog program will not orient them the correct direction.

Liberated Star Blocks

Kirsten is making Liberated Stars. She just loves those Freddy Moran liberated blocks.  She's going to make a whole quilt with Liberated Stars. Those colors really pop!  She is just getting started, so it may take her a little while.  She has to finish quilting the 40's quilt she has almost finished. Her sewing machine was giving her some frustration with stippling.  She is going to try one more time, and if that does not work, she is going to rip it out and just quilt straight lines on it.  Either way it will look pretty nice when finished.  She knows just the doll who could use the 40's quilt. Not doing anything special for February, such as V-Day or wintery stuff.   She has resolved to update her blog more often. Check back!
