Wedge Quilt Under Way

No sooner had Astrid and I finished up that last quilt, Astrid has a whole other one up on the design wall.  When exactly did she cut all those wedges, anyway?  She won an acrylic wedge-shaped ruler at a quilting retreat last year, and now she is giving it the work out.

She sewed them together in sets of two then arranged them on our amazing black design wall.  I think the bottom couple of rows are actually sewed to each other, but the top mass is not.  She is still deciding if each row needs two more wedge shapes.  I guess I will just make a strip quilt, so I won't need the design wall.  Over and out, Marsha.

Cutting Table Ideal for Kirsten's Quilting Needs

 

Spring is in the air, and Kirsten means business.  She has her apron on and her hair pulled back.  She has been whacking up fabric all day!  We will have to check back with her, because she is in the middle of cutting it up on her new cutting table.

Kirsten Plans Valentine's Day Quilt!

Kirsten has been at the cutting table again. This time with her red and white fabric stash.  Ohhhh! The possibilities!  Here is a sneak preview of her Valentine's Day Quilt.  Be sure to check back on February 14th for the finished flash of color!

Kirsten Back from the Spa and Planning Another Quilt

Kirsten is planning a red, white, and blue quilt for a friend.  She has decided to stay away from the brights and use some early 1900s style fabrics. She has a few blocks cut out already, but will need 100 to make her quilt.

Kirsten on Creative Binge!

Kirsten is on another creative binge!  She has her blocks up on the design wall and is considering experimenting with strip quilting and maybe even brighter colors.  The sky is the limit!
