2026 Kuna Days Parade

We went out for the Kuna Days Parade again.  We like to hang out, sometimes, with the Peacemakers of Idaho quilt group of Kuna.  We all wore red, white, and blue, or something near that, and decked the float up with quilts of the same.

Fortunately, the smoke has settled down a little, so it was not so hard to breathe today.  We were number 27, (out of 90 entries in the parade) so we finished earlier than normal and got to head home.  We are planning a luncheon out with some of our favorite quilters, since we were all hot and sweaty, we decided to do lunch at a later date.

Jane here!  We had so much fun at the Kuna Days Parade today.  It started out breezy and overcast which made it less hot in the waiting for the parade to get started.  About half-way through, Gracie fell over.  Marsha managed to help her up, so she could wave some more to the crowd.  We were all a bit wind-blown by the time it was over.  It was a great crowd this year.  

The parade theme is "Under Western Skies", so we all wore our bandanas.  We put Kirsten's down-on-the-farm quilt on this side of our float.  That is Gracie in the middle.

Kuna Days Parade!

Guess who made it back up to Idaho?  Edna got here in time to be in the Kuna Days Parade with us.   That was last Saturday, the third.

There were six of us on our amazing quilt float this year:  Edna, Kirsten, Norma, Astrid, Marsha, and Jane.

Kudo's to our driver, who did an outstanding job this year; gradual slow-downs and speed-ups, with no quick take offs or sudden braking.  It was a fabulous time, with lots of folks on the street-sides, with a genuine air of festiveness.  We all went out to lunch, with Carol and Annita, after we finished the route.

Kuna Days Parade 2023

This is the third time we have been in the Kuna Days Parade.  We get invited by the Piecemakers of Idaho to join them, when they do the parade.  It is so much fun waving at everyone.  We were between Idaho Central Credit Union and the Challenger Chicks, this year.  

The theme, this year, is "Out of This World", so there were lots of space aliens about today.  We just had out-of-this-world quilts!

It was so much fun to see all the people involved in the parade and how they decorated, and to see all the people who came to watch the parade.  Everybody had a fun time.  What a great way to spend a Saturday morning in August.

Kuna Days Parade 2021

Today we were in the Kuna Days Parade!  We had so much fun, and there were so many people out to see the parade.  We were between the Piecemakers of Idaho entry and the Kuna Roller Derby Girls entry.  It was alot of fun!  The weather was perfect for a parade today.

Here we are waving at the crowd.  The flag kept getting in Astrid's face, but she survived.  After the parade, we came home and had tomato and cucumber sandwiches and relaxed.

Jane's Quilts -With Those American Jane Fabrics

In the last post, Marsha said that Jane was catching up and doing a Civil War Nine Patch quilt.  Well, I had not seen Jane's quilt that she had started last January.  Remember Jane's January Tutorials?  Where are those?  Oh, one was on our float last summer and at the quilt show in October, but nobody posted the photos.  I have connected with Jane and got a couple photos, so you can see how they turned out.  She still has to put the binding on the first one she did; the Sixteen Patch On-Point quilt.
